The Flop is a weekly small stakes poker tournament held above a lovely pub in Mornington Crescent.

Cards are in the air every Tuesday night at 7:30, and for £10 you get a starting stack of 3000 chips. If you bust out during the first 3 levels you can rebuy (only once) and get an additional 3000 for £10. If you don’t need to rebuy, you’ll get the option to add-on at the end of the first 3 levels, which will give you an additional 2000 chips for just £5.

There’s a £3 vig for tournaments, but none for the inevitable cash games that follow. If there’s any live sport on then there’s a large wall mounted TV that you’re able to watch on, otherwise an odd mixture of music, from Beethoven to Linkin Park, is played in the background.

Friendly atmosphere, great location and a pub that does superb pizza makes this a venue to check out if you’re ever in London and bored on a Tuesday night.
